MELBOURNE – Sean Jones’ hat trick and Brett Ferguson’s three points helped as the Melbourne Mustangs won over the Perth Thunder 6-3 at the on Sunday afternoon.
Jones scored his first goal at 6.41 of the first period unassisted. Jones’ second goal was at 3.52 of the first period, with Vadim Virjassov and Mike McDowell picking up the assists. Jones scored his third goal at 1.17 of the first period, with Troy Robertson and Vadim Virjassov picking up the assists. Jones’ third goal was a power play goal, with Perth player Jonathon Bremner sitting for tripping.
Brett Ferguson scored 1 goal. and got 2 assists for 3 points. Ferguson’s goal, the game winning goal, came at 17.51 of the 3rd, assisted by Patrick O’Kane.
Patrick O’Kane and Troy Robertson scored 1 goal and 1 assist each for 2 points each.
Andrew Cox scored 1 goals and got 1 assist for 2 points for the Thunder.
