SYDNEY – Two goals to Hayden Dawes and Kai Miettinen tallied 2 points as the CBR Brave won over the Sydney Bears 3-1 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Saturday evening.

Dawes scored his first goal at 3.26 of the first period, with Kai Miettinen and Channing Bresciani picking up the assists. Dawes scored his second goal at 13.37 of the third period, with Kai Miettinen and Jayden Lewis picking up the assists.

Kai Miettinen scored 0 goals and got 2 assists for 2 points. Trevor Gerling scored the game winning goal at 15.45 of the 3rd, assisted by Joseph Hughes and Ainars Podzins.

Jeremy Vasquez scored the lone Bears goal at 5.04 of the second period, assisted by Ryan Annesley and Brian Funes.

Mat Hewitt was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, making 44 saves on 45 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.978. Anthony Kimlin was the losing goalie for Sydney Bears, making 40 saves on 43 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.930. Kimlin left the game at 19.14 of the 3rd period, but the Bears were unable to take advantage with the extra attacker.
