
SYDNEY – Ryan Lough found the back of the net twice and Michael Schlamp scored two goals the Sydney Bears beat the Melbourne Mustangs 6-3 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Sunday evening.
The first goal for Lough was scored at 4:48 of the second period, with Shai Rabinowitz and Charles Adams picking up the assists. Lough’s second goal, an empty net goal, came at 1:46 of the third period, with Anthony Kimlin getting the assist.
The first goal for Schlamp was scored at 13:27 of the first period, with Adams and Thomas Steven picking up the assists. Schlamp scored his second goal, a power play goal and eventual game winner, at 12:16 of the third period, with Ryan Annesley and Adams picking up the assists.
Jeremy Vasquez scored one goal and one assist for two points, while Adams got three assists for three points.
Benjamin Davies scored two goals for the Mustangs, and Brett Ferguson and Nikita Kolesnikovs picked up two assists each.
Anthony Kimlin was the winning goalie for Sydney Bears, making 29 saves on 32 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.906. Petri Pitkänen was the losing goalie for Melbourne Mustangs, making 23 saves on 28 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.821. Pitkänen left the game at 17:53 of the third period for an extra attacker. It backfired, however, as Lough scored an empty net goal at 1:46 of the third period.
