Bremner’s Hat Trick Help Thunder Demolish Northstars

NEWCASTLE – Jonathon Bremner scored a hat trick and two goals to Benjamin Breault helped the Perth Thunder crushed the Newcastle Northstars 8-2 at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The first goal for Bremner was scored at 9:42 of the second period, with Jordan Kyros and Andrew Cox picking up the assists. Bremner scored his second goal at 5:34 of the second period, with Landon Oslanski and Andrew Cox picking up the assists. Bremner scored his third goal, a short handed goal, at 15:16 of the third period, with Pier-Olivier Grandmaison and Breault picking up the assists.

Breault scored his first goal at 8:59 of the second period, with Oslanski and Grandmaison picking up the assists. Breault scored his second goal at 2:46 of the second period, with Grandmaison and Tomek Sak picking up the assists.

Grandmaison got five assists for five points, Oslanski scored one goal and three assists for four points, and Andrew Cox got two assists for two points.

Shane Southwood opened the scoring for the Northstars with the first goal of the game coming at 9:49 of the second period. Southwood’s goal was assisted by Patrick Nadin and Liam Manwarring. Zane Jones scored a short-handed goal at 13:07 of the third period.

Peter Di Salvo was the winning goalie for Perth Thunder, making 38 saves on 40 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.950. Charles Smart was the losing goalie for Newcastle Northstars, making 14 saves on 18 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.778. Smart left the game at 9:56 of the second period.
