Jones Leads The Way, Northstars Win Over Mustangs

NEWCASTLE – Two goals to Zane Jones and four points to Joseph Harcharik helped the Newcastle Northstars win over the Melbourne Mustangs 5-2 at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium on Saturday evening.

Jones’ first goal came at 9:47 of the first period, with Patrick Nadin and Sam Lawson picking up the assists. Jones scored his second goal at 14:42 of the second period, with Joseph Harcharik and Robert Malloy picking up the assists.

Joseph Harcharik scored one goal and three assists for four points, and Tomas Landa got two assists for two points. Nick Rivait scored the game winning goal, which was scored while short-handed, at 4:03 of the 2nd, assisted by Harcharik and Landa.

Matt Stringer and Benjamin Davies were the goal scorers for the Mustangs.
