
SYDNEY – A hat trick to Grant Toulmin and Geordie Wudrick earned four points as the Sydney Ice Dogs won over the Melbourne Mustangs 6-2 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Sunday evening.
Toulmin scored his first goal at 11:38 of the first period, with Todd Stephenson and Wudrick picking up the assists. The second goal for Toulmin was scored at 0:19 of the first period, with Nathan Chiarlitti and Wudrick picking up the assists. Toulmin scored his third goal, a short handed goal, at 13:35 of the third period unassisted.
Wudrick scored one goal and three assists for four points, and Chiarlitti got two assists for two points. Lee Turner scored the game winning goal at 3:18 of the 2nd, assisted by Chiarlitti and Wudrick.
Andrew Erzen and Brendan McDowell scored for the Mustangs.
Curtis Skip was the winning goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, making 25 saves on 27 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.926. Petri Pitkänen was the losing goalie for Melbourne Mustangs, making 16 saves on 22 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.727.
