
PERTH – Trevor Gerling scored two goals and Ainars Podzins earned three points as the CBR Brave beat the Perth Thunder 5-2 at the Perth Ice Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Gerling scored his first goal, which turned into the game winning goal, at 14:25 of the third period, with Chris Leveille and Tyler Kubara picking up the assists. The second goal for Gerling, a power play goal, was scored at 6:16 of the third period, with Wehebe Darge and Podzins picking up the assists.
Podzins got three assists for three points, and Tyler Kubara got two assists for two points.
Leveille scored a short-handed goal at 4:03 of the third period, assisted by Gerling and Podzins.
James Woodman and Pier-Olivier Grandmaison were the goal scorers for the Thunder.
Matt Hewitt was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, making 30 saves on 32 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.938. Peter Di Salvo was the losing goalie for Perth Thunder, making 50 saves on 55 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.909.
