
SYDNEY – Geordie Wudrick scored a hat trick and two goals to Grant Toulmin saw the Sydney Ice Dogs defeat the Melbourne Ice 6-2 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Saturday evening.
The first goal for Wudrick was scored at 3:23 of the first period, with Bryan Kolodziejczyk and Toulmin picking up the assists. The second goal for Wudrick was scored at 0:18 of the second period, with Kolodziejczyk and Toulmin again picking up the assists. Wudrick’s third goal, an empty net goal, came at 1:24 of the third period, with Toulmin and Kolodziejczyk picking up the assists.
The first goal for Toulmin was scored at 13:32 of the second period, with Wudrick and Shannon McGregor picking up the assists. Toulmin’s second goal came at 0:37 of the third period, with Wudrick and Kolodziejczyk picking up the assists.
Bryan Kolodziejczyk got four assists for four points.
Robert Clark and Lliam Webster scored the goals for the Melbourne Ice.
Curtis Skip was the winning goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, making 22 saves on 24 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.917. James Downie was the losing goalie for Melbourne Ice, making 18 saves on 24 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.750. Downie was pulled from the net for an extra attacker in the third period. It backfired, as Geordie Wudrick scored an empty net goal at 1:24 of the third period, assisted by Grant Toulmin and Bryan Kolodziejczyk.
