CANBERRA – Ainars Podzins scored four goals and Chris Leveille found the back of the net two times as the CBR Brave beat the Melbourne Mustangs 8-4 at the Phillip Swimming & Ice Skating Centre on Sunday afternoon.

Podzins’ first goal came at 13:31 of the first period, with Matthew Harvey and Hayden Dawes picking up the assists. Podzins’ second goal, which turned into the game winner, came at 8:43 of the second period, with Chris Leveille and Matthew Harvey picking up the assists. Podzins’ third goal came at 0:37 of the second period, with Channing Bresciani and Kai Miettinen picking up the assists. The fourth goal for Podzins was scored at 12:29 of the third period, with Wehebe Darge and Chris Leveille picking up the assists.

Leveille’s first goal, a short handed goal, came at 1:36 of the first period, with Wehebe Darge and Per Daniel Göransson picking up the assists. Leveille scored his second goal at 0:24 of the first period, with Wehebe Darge and Matthew Harvey picking up the assists.

Wehebe Darge and Matthew Harvey got three assists for three points each.

Brett Ferguson scored his first goal for the Mustangs, a power play goal, at 4:31 of the second period, with Benjamin Davies and Mitchell Humphries picking up the assists. The second goal for Ferguson, a power play goal, was scored at 3:17 of the second period, with Jamie Bourke and Benjamin Davies picking up the assists.

Benjamin Davies scored one goal and two assists for three points.
