NEWCASTLE – Sammy Banga tallied three points and a goal to Robert Malloy the Newcastle Northstars defeated the Melbourne Ice 3-2 at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Sammy Banga scored a power play goal at 6:33 of the first period, assisted by Nick Rivait and Malloy
Malloy scored the game winning goal at 16:41 of the 3rd, assisted by Sammy Banga.
Todd Graham got two assists for two points for the Ice. Dylan Anderson and Dillon Lawrence were the goal scorers.
Dayne Davis was the winning goalie for Newcastle Northstars, making 35 saves on 37 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.946. Jaden Pine-Murphy was the losing goalie for Melbourne Ice, making 21 saves on 24 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.875.
