MELBOURNE – Chris Leveille found the back of the net twice and Trevor Gerling scored two goals as the CBR Brave defeated the Melbourne Mustangs 7-5 at the O’Brien Group Arena on Saturday evening.
The first goal for Leveille was scored at 0:50 of the first period, with Wehebe Darge and Trevor Gerling picking up the assists. Leveille scored his second goal, an empty net goal, at 1:01 of the third period, with Trevor Gerling getting the assist.
Gerling scored his first goal at 8:56 of the first period, with Chris Leveille and Wehebe Darge picking up the assists. The second goal for Gerling was scored at 5:57 of the second period, with Chris Leveille and Wehebe Darge picking up the assists.
Wehebe Darge scored one goal and three assists for four points, while Kai Miettinen scored the game winning goal at 16:10 of the third period unassisted.
The first Mustangs goal for Brett Ferguson was scored at 8:28 of the second period, with Nikita Kolesnikovs and Vadim Virjassov picking up the assists. Ferguson’s second goal came at 7:34 of the third period, with Jamie Bourke and Michael McMahon picking up the assists.
