Gerling Scores Two As Brave Smash Bears

CANBERRA – Trevor Gerling found the back of the net twice and Chris Leveille earned six points as the CBR Brave blew away the Sydney Bears 7-2 at the Phillip Swimming & Ice Skating Centre on Saturday evening.

Gerling scored his first goal, a power play goal, at 3:41 of the first period, with Chris Leveille and Channing Bresciani picking up the assists. Gerling’s second goal came at 1:33 of the first period, with Wehebe Darge and Chris Leveille picking up the assists.

Chris Leveille scored one goal and five assists for six points.

The first goal for Darge, a power play goal, was scored at 2:31 of the second period, with Chris Leveille and Matt Hewitt picking up the assists. Darge’s second goal came at 1:07 of the second period, with Chris Leveille and Trevor Gerling picking up the assists.

Channing Bresciani got three assists for three points. Per Daniel Göransson scored the game winning goal at 5:46 of the 2nd, assisted by Trevor Gerling and Chris Leveille.

Thomas Steven and Charles Adams were the goal scorers for the Bears.

Matt Hewitt was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, making 32 saves on 34 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.941. Anthony Kimlin was the losing goalie for Sydney Bears, making 16 saves on 21 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.762. Kimlin left the game at the start of the third period. Aston Brookes was the backup goalie for Sydney Bears, making 15 saves on 17 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.882.
