NEWCASTLE – Wehebe Darge scored two goals and Trevor Gerling tallied three points as the CBR Brave beat the Newcastle Northstars 6-4 at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Darge’s first goal came at 6:26 of the second period, with Gerling and Channing Bresciani picking up the assists. Darge’s second goal, a power play goal, came at 0:51 of the second period, with Gerling getting the assist.
Gerling finished the game with three assists for three points, and Bresciani scored one goal and one assist for two points.
Sammy Banga scored one goal and one assist for two points for the Northstars.
Matt Hewitt was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, making 30 saves on 34 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.882. Dayne Davis was the losing goalie for Newcastle Northstars, making 41 saves on 46 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.891.
