
ADELAIDE – Brett Ferguson scored two goals and Patrick O’Kane found the back of the net twice as the Melbourne Mustangs beat the Adelaide Adrenaline 4-1 at the IceArenA on Sunday afternoon.
Ferguson scored his first goal at 14:02 of the first period, with Benjamin Davies and O’Kane picking up the assists. Ferguson scored his second goal at 13:47 of the second period, with Nikita Kolesnikovs and Jackson McCoy, playing his 150th AIHL game, picking up the assists.
O’Kane’s first goal, which turned into the game winner, came at 2:20 of the first period, with Davies getting the assist. O’Kane’s second goal came at 19:11 of the third period, with Ferguson and Davies picking up the assists.
Benjamin Davies got three assists for three points.
Tyler Leeming scored the lone Adrenaline goal at 13:00 of the first period, assisted by Steve Best and Ryan Foll.
Aleksi Toivonen was the winning goalie for Melbourne Mustangs, making 16 saves on 17 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.941. Sebastian Andersson was the losing goalie for Adelaide Adrenaline, making 43 saves on 47 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.915.
