Powell’s Two Help Ice Win Over Ice Dogs

SYDNEY – Thomas Powell found the back of the net twice and Devon Krogh scored two goals as the Melbourne Ice beat the Sydney Ice Dogs 6-2 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Sunday evening.

The first goal for Powell was scored at 9:23 of the first period, with Scott Corbett and Declan Bronte picking up the assists. Powell scored his second goal at 0:02 of the second period, with Nate Fleming and Corbett picking up the assists.

Devon Krogh scored the game winning goal at 14:04 of the 2nd, assisted by Fleming and Todd Graham. Krogh scored his second goal at 13:10 of the third period unassisted.

Scott Corbett scored one goal and two assists for three points. Nate Fleming got three assists for three points, and Todd Graham got two assists for two points.

Jonatan Ruth and Bryan Kolodziejczyk were the goal scorers for the Ice Dogs.

Jaden Pine-Murphy was the winning goalie for Melbourne Ice, making 32 saves on 34 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.941. Curtis Skip was the losing goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, making 23 saves on 29 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.793.
