
SYDNEY – Charles Adams scored a hat trick and Ryan Lough scored two goals as the Sydney Bears demolished the Newcastle Northstars 9-3 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Friday .
The first goal for Adams, a short handed goal, was scored at 10:56 of the first period, with Lough and Brian Funes picking up the assists. Adams scored his second goal, a power play goal, at 3:24 of the first period, with Graeme Strukoff getting the assist. Adams scored his third goal at 2:58 of the first period, with Lough and Ryan Annesley picking up the assists.
Lough’s first goal came at 6:03 of the third period unassisted. The second goal for Lough, a short handed goal, was scored at 5:09 of the third period, with Ryan Annesley and Graeme Strukoff picking up the assists.
Kayne Fedor scored the game winning goal at 19:27 of the 3rd, assisted by Lough.
Ryan Annesley scored one goal and three assists for four points, and Graeme Strukoff got three assists for three points.
Zane Jones scored one goal and two assists for three points for the Northstars, while Sammy Banga got two assists for two points.
Anthony Kimlin was the winning goalie for Sydney Bears, making 21 saves on 24 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.875. Charles Smart was the losing goalie for Newcastle Northstars, making 21 saves on 30 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.700.
