
NEWCASTLE – Sammy Banga scored a hat trick and two goals to Zane Jones helped as the Newcastle Northstars crushed the Adelaide Adrenaline 10-4 at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium on Saturday evening.
Banga’s first goal came at 4:47 of the first period, with Jones and Matthew Lindsay picking up the assists. Banga scored his second goal at 5:51 of the second period, with Jones and Robert Haselhurst picking up the assists. Banga’s third goal, a short handed goal, came at 12:48 of the third period, with Jones and Nick Rivait picking up the assists.
Jones scored his first goal at 0:41 of the first period, with Banga and Joseph Harcharik picking up the assists. Jones’ second goal came at 7:20 of the third period, with Patrick Ward getting the assist.
Sam Lawson scored one goal and three assists for four points, and Nick Rivait scored one goal and two assists for three points.
Dayne Davis was the winning goalie for Newcastle Northstars, making 27 saves on 31 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.871. Sebastian Andersson was the losing goalie for Adelaide Adrenaline, making 26 saves on 36 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.722.
