
SYDNEY – Joseph Hughes tallied two points and Wehebe Darge earned two points as the CBR Brave defeated the Sydney Ice Dogs 3-1 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Saturday evening.
Hughes scored at 7:37 of the second period, assisted by Channing Bresciani and Darge.
Darge’s power play goal came at 1:39 of the second period, assisted by Hughes and Bresciani.
Channing Bresciani got two assists for two points.
Bryan Kolodziejczyk scored the Ice Dogs’ lone goal at 7:42 of the third period, assisted by Geordie Wudrick and James Marino.
Matt Hewitt was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, making 26 saves on 27 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.963. Curtis Skip was the losing goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, making 33 saves on 35 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.943. Skip left the game for an extra attacker at the end of the third period. It backfired, as Casey Kubara scored an empty net goal at 0:10 of the third period, assisted by Kai Miettinen and Mitch Henning.
