CANBERRA – Trevor Gerling scored three points and Wehebe Darge tallied two points as the CBR Brave won over the Sydney Ice Dogs 5-2 at the Phillip Swimming & Ice Skating Centre on Sunday evening.

Trevor Gerling scored the game winning goal at 3:32 on the power play, assisted by Darge and Channing Bresciani. Gerling also got two assists for three points for the game.

Wehebe Darge scored at 10:15 of the first period. Darge’s goal was assisted by Bresciani and Gerling

Bresciani finished the night with three assists for three points, and Casey Kubara scored one goal and one assist for two points.

Geordie Wudrick scored one goal and one assist for two points for the Ice Dogs, and Bryan Kolodziejczyk got two assists for two points.

Matt Hewitt was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, making 14 saves on 14 shots, for a Save Percentage of 1.000. Hewitt left the game with 10:31 left in the 3rd period. Alex Tetreault was the backup goalie for CBR Brave, making 12 saves on 14 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.857. Curtis Skip was the losing goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, making 43 saves on 48 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.896.
