SYDNEY – Ryan Lough’s hat trick and four points to Charles Adams helped the Sydney Bears defeat the Melbourne Mustangs 5-1 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Saturday evening.

Lough’s first goal came at 5:58 of the first period, with Michael Schlamp and Charles Adams picking up the assists. Lough scored his second goal at 7:02 of the second period, with Graeme Strukoff and Vladimir Rubes picking up the assists. The third goal for Lough was scored at 5:27 of the second period, with Charles Adams and Graeme Strukoff picking up the assists.

Charles Adams got four assists for four points, while Graeme Strukoff got two assists for two points.

Ben Davies scored the lone goal for the Mustangs.

Anthony Kimlin was the winning goalie for Sydney Bears, making 34 saves on 35 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.971. Aleksi Toivonen was the losing goalie for Melbourne Mustangs, making 14 saves on 18 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.778. Toivonen left the game at 18:41 of the third period. It backfired, as Joey Gunner scored an empty net goal at 1:42 of the third period, assisted by Charles Adams.
