
MELBOURNE – Two goals to Jesse Schwartz and Jonathon Bremner’s goal helped the Melbourne Ice beat the Adelaide Adrenaline 6-5 at the O’Brien Icehouse on Sunday afternoon.
Schwartz scored his first goal at 10:11 of the second period, with Matt Armstrong and Lliam Webster picking up the assists. Schwartz’s second goal came at 18:41 of the third period, with assists going to Lliam Webster and Jack Carpenter.
Jonathon Bremner scored the game winning goal at 3:20 of the 3rd, assisted by Austin McKenzie and Paul Lazzarotto.
Tom Powell, Jack Carpenter and Austin McKenzie all scored one goal and one assist each for two points each.
Matt Armstrong got three assists for three points, while Lliam Webster and Paul Lazzarotto got two assists for two points each.
Josef Rezek scored his first goal for the Adrenaline at 8:38 of the first period unassisted. Rezek’s second goal came at 1:27 of the third period, with Marcel McGuiness and Jake Riley picking up the assists.
Steve Best and Harley Anderson both scored one goal and one assist for two points.
Ales Kratoska got three assists for three points, and Jake Riley got two assists for two points.
James Downie was the winning goalie for Melbourne Ice, making 26 saves on 31 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.839.
Jesse Gordichuk was the losing goalie for Adelaide Adrenaline, making 35 saves on 41 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.854. Gordichuk left the game at 19:34 of the 3rd period, however Adelaide were unable to score with the extra attacker.
