Toulmin’s Three Points Help Ice Dogs Defeat Ice

SYDNEY – Three points to Grant Toulmin and two points to Paul Crowder helped the Sydney Ice Dogs win over the Melbourne Ice 3-2 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Saturday .

Grant Toulmin scored the game winning goal at 3:03 of the second period, assisted by Lee Turner.

Paul Crowder, an Ice Dogs import playing in his first AIHL game, scored the opening goal of the game at 7:40 of the second period. The goal was assisted by Toulmin and Dylan Manierka-Quaile.

Manierka-Quaile scored one goal and one assist for two points.

Tom Powell scored a short-handed goal for the Ice, and one assist for two points.

Garrett Bartus was the winning goalie for the Ice Dogs, making 30 saves on 32 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.938. James Downie was the losing goalie for the Ice, making 33 saves on 36 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.917.
