
SYDNEY – Benjamin Breault scored two goals and three points to Louick Marcotte helped the Perth Thunder defeat the Sydney Ice Dogs 5-3 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Sunday afternoon.
Breault scored his first goal, a short handed goal, at 3:42 of the first period, with Louick Marcotte and David Kudla picking up the assists. Breault’s second goal, a power play goal, came at 9:05 of the second period, with Keven Veilleux and Louick Marcotte picking up the assists.
Keven Veilleux scored the game winning goal at 13:31 of the 3rd, assisted by Marcotte. Marcotte finished the game with three assists for three points.
Dylan Manierka-Quaile’s first goal for the Ice Dogs, a power play goal, came at 7:53 of the first period, with Paul Crowder and Tim Crowder picking up the assists. The second goal for Manierka-Quaile, another power play goal, was scored at 1:39 of the second period unassisted.
Paul Crowder scored one goal and one assist for two points.
Nico Viksten was the winning goalie for Perth Thunder, making 22 saves on 25 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.880. Garrett Bartus was the losing goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, making 23 saves on 27 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.852. Bartus left the game at 18:19 of the 3rd period for an extra attacker. It backfired, as Tomek Sak scored an empty net goal at 0:29 of the 3rd period, assisted by James Woodman.
