
NEWCASTLE – Francis Drolet found the back of the net twice and Sammy Banga tallied four points as the Newcastle Northstars defeated the Adelaide Adrenaline 6-2 at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The first goal for Drolet, a power play goal, was scored at 19:36 of the third period, with Sammy Banga and Ondrej Smach picking up the assists. Drolet’s second goal came at 5:55 of the third period, with Sammy Banga and Jayden Ryan picking up the assists.
Sammy Banga scored the game winning goal at 12:04 of the 2nd, assisted by Dominik Gabaj and Robert Malloy. Banga also picked up three assists for four points in the game.
Robert Malloy scored one goal and one assist for two points, and Dominik Gabaj got two assists for two points.
Steve Best scored the first goal for the Adrenaline, assisted by Andrew Stapleton and Remy McGuiness, at 10:10 of the second period. Ales Kratoska scored at 1:16 of the third period for Adelaide’s second goal.
Dayne Davis was the winning goalie for Newcastle Northstars, making 20 saves on 22 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.909. Jesse Gordichuk was the losing goalie for Adelaide Adrenaline, making 48 saves on 54 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.889.
