McMahon’s Three Points Help Mustangs Defeat Ice

MELBOURNE – Three points to Michael McMahon and a goal to Parker Thomas saw the Melbourne Mustangs defeat the Melbourne Ice 4-3 at the O’Brien Icehouse on Friday night.

Michael McMahon scored one goal and two assists for three points.

Parker Thomas scored the game winning goal at 4:41 of the 3rd, assisted by Michael McMahon and Matt Anderson. Thomas also picked up one assist for two points on the night.

Vadim Virjassov and Matt Anderson got two assists each for two points each.

Lliam Webster scored his first goal for the Ice on the power play goal, at 4:07 of the second period, with Jason Baclig and Jesse Schwartz picking up the assists. The second goal for Webster was scored at 15:15 of the third period, with Tom Powell and Matt Armstrong picking up the assists.

Jaden Pine-Murphy was the winning goalie for Melbourne Mustangs, making 26 saves on 29 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.897.

James Downie was the losing goalie for Melbourne Ice, making 23 saves on 27 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.852. Downie left the game at 18:57 of the 3rd period.
