Landa’s Two Help Northstars Beat Mustangs

MELBOURNE – Tomas Landa scored two goals and Francis Drolet earned two points as the Newcastle Northstars won over the Melbourne Mustangs 4-3 at the O’Brien Icehouse on Saturday evening.

The first goal for Landa was scored at 8:30 of the first period, with Jayden Ryan and Matthew Lindsay picking up the assists. Landa scored his second goal at 10:16 of the second period, assisted by Patrick Ward and Matthew Lindsay.

Francis Drolet scored one goal and one assist for two points, while Matthew Lindsay got two assists for two points.

Matt Wetini scored the game winning goal at 10:54 of the 3rd, assisted by Francis Drolet and Sammy Banga.

Sean Jones, Christian Isackson and Matt Anderson were the goal scored for the Mustangs.

Dayne Davis was the winning goalie for Newcastle Northstars, making 38 saves on 41 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.927. Jaden Pine-Murphy was the losing goalie for Melbourne Mustangs, making 20 saves on 24 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.833.
