
SYDNEY – Danick Gauthier scored a hat trick and Vladimir Rubes found the back of the net twice as the Sydney Bears beat the Sydney Ice Dogs 6-3 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Saturday evening.
Gauthier’s first goal, a short handed goal, came at 5:42 of the first period unassisted. The second goal for Gauthier was scored at 10:59 of the second period, with Tyerell Clare picking up the assists. Gauthier’s third goal, a power play goal, came at 4:39 of the third period, with Thomas Steven and Jake Ratcliffe picking up the assists.
The first goal for Rubes was scored at 11:25 of the first period, with Alexander Wardlaw and Jeremy Vasquez picking up the assists. Rubes’ second goal came at 13:53 of the third period, with Thomas Steven and Tyerell Clare picking up the assists.
Thomas Steven scored the game winning goal at 17:48 of the 3rd, assisted by Tim Newmark and Justin Vienneau. Steven also scored two assists for three points on the night.
Tyerell Clare got two assists for two points for the Bears.
Matthew Monaghan, Dylan Manierka-Quaile and Tim Crowder were the goal scorers for the Ice Dogs. Grant Toulmin, Aiden Sillato and Paul Crowder got two assists for two points each.
Anthony Kimlin was the winning goalie for Sydney Bears, making 29 saves on 32 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.906. Nicholas Novysedlak was the losing goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, making 29 saves on 35 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.829.
