
MELBOURNE – Kasey Kulczycki scored two goals and Todd Graham tallied two points as the Melbourne Ice defeated the Melbourne Mustangs 5-4 in a shootout at the O’Brien Icehouse on Friday night.
Kulczycki scored his first goal at 14:34 of the first period, with JM Piotrowski and Matt Armstrong picking up the assists. Kulczycki’s second goal came at 8:54 of the first period unassisted.
Todd Graham and Matt Armstrong scored one goal and one assist for two points each in the win. Tommy Powell scored the winning shootout goal in the sixth round of the shootout.
Vadim Virjassov’s first goal for the Mustangs came at 1:41 of the second period, with Christian Isackson and picking up the assists. Virjassov scored his second goal at 8:21 of the third period, with Jordan Owens and Christian Isackson picking up the assists.
Sean Jones scored one goal and one assist for two points, while Christian Isackson and Parker Thomas got two assists for two points each.
Sebastian Andersson was the winning goalie for Melbourne Ice, making 41 saves on 45 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.911. Jaden Pine-Murphy was the losing goalie for Melbourne Mustangs, making 17 saves on 21 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.810.
