
CANBERRA – Jesse Gabrielle scored a hat trick on AIHL debut and two goals to Jordan Draper saw the CBR Brave smash the Perth Thunder 7-0 at the Phillip Ice Skating Centre on Saturday evening.
Gabrielle scored his first goal at 7:41 of the second period, with Tyler Kubara and Tyler Mayea picking up the assists. The second goal for Gabrielle was scored at 3:38 of the second period, with Wehebe Darge and Jordan Draper picking up the assists. Gabrielle scored his third goal, a power play goal, at 8:38 of the third period, with Jordan Draper and Casey Kubara picking up the assists.
The first goal for Draper was scored at 3:39 of the first period, with Jesse Gabrielle and Hayden Dawes picking up the assists. Draper’s second goal came at 8:39 of the second period, with assists going to Jesse Gabrielle and Tyler Mayea.
Joseph Hughes and Nicholas Doornbos scored the other Brave goals. Casey Kubara and Tyler Mayea got two assists for two points each.
There were 3 penalties at 16:03 of the 3rd period, resulting in 52 minutes of penalties. Joseph Hughes and Keven Veilleux got Match penalties, with Veilleux getting an additional two minutes for instigating.
Matthew Climie was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, stopping all 23 shots he faced for a Save Percentage of 1.000. Nico Viksten was the losing goalie for Perth Thunder, making 36 saves on 43 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.837.
