Gabrielle’s Four Help Brave Blow Away Mustangs

CANBERRA – Jesse Gabrielle found the back of the net four times and Adam Kambeitz scored twice as the CBR Brave demolished the Melbourne Mustangs 11-4 at the Phillip Ice Skating Centre on Sunday afternoon.

Gabrielle’s first goal, a short handed goal, came at 5:20 of the first period, with Jordan Draper and Hayden Dawes picking up the assists. Gabrielle scored his second goal, a power play goal, at 0:32 of the second period, with Hayden Dawes and Wehebe Darge picking up the assists. Gabrielle’s third goal came at 13:49 of the third period, with Adam Kambeitz and Jordan Draper picking up the assists. Gabrielle scored his fourth goal, a power play goal, at 4:49 of the third period, with Jordan Draper and Hayden Dawes picking up the assists.

Gabrielle also picked up two assists, giving him six points for the game.

Kambeitz scored his first goal at 16:28 of the third period, with Jordan Draper and Tyler Kubara picking up the assists. The second goal for Kambeitz was scored at 9:55 of the third period, with Jesse Gabrielle and Jordan Draper picking up the assists.

Miettinen’s first goal, a short handed goal, came at 3:49 of the first period, with Matthew Harvey and Adam Kambeitz picking up the assists. Miettinen scored his second goal at 9:40 of the second period, with Matthew Price and Hayden Dawes picking up the assists.

Wehebe Darge scored one goal and two assists for three points.  Joseph Hughes and Joseph Maatouk scored a goal each, while Hayden Dawes and Jordan Draper got five assists for five points each.

Virjassov’s first goal for the Mustangs came at 14:24 of the first period unassisted. Virjassov scored his second goal at 18:22 of the third period, with Parker Thomas and Troy Robertson picking up the assists.

Jamie Bourke and Matt Anderson scored the Mustangs’ other goals.  Troy Robertson got two assists for two points.

There were 8 penalties at the end of the 2nd period, resulting in 89 minutes of penalties. Damian Bright and Mitchell Henning got Game Misconduct penalties along with roughing majors, and Bayley Kubara got a Match penalty.  Jamie Bourke was assessed for minors for roughing and cross-checking, as well as a misconduct.

Matthew Climie was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, making 25 saves on 29 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.862. Climie left the game at 10:05 of the 3rd period.  Alex Tetreault stepped in, making 7 saves on 7 shots, for a Save Percentage of 1.000.  Jaden Pine-Murphy was the losing goalie for Melbourne Mustangs, making 12 saves on 16 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.750. Pine-Murphy left the game at 5:20 of the second period.  Michael Breedveld was the backup goalie for Melbourne Mustangs, making 11 saves on 18 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.611.
