
SYDNEY – Jake Ratcliffe found the back of the net twice and Ryan Annesley tallied four points as the Sydney Bears beat the Perth Thunder 5-4 in overtime at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Saturday evening.
Ratcliffe scored his first goal, a power play goal, at 10:46 of the second period, with Ryan Annesley and Brian Funes picking up the assists. Ratcliffe’s second goal, another power play goal, at 0:25 of the fourth period, with Christopher Moquin and Ryan Annesley picking up the assists.
Ryan Annesley scored at 18:48 of the third period, assisted by Danick Gauthier and Jake Ratcliffe. Annesley also picked up three assists for four points in the game.
Danick Gauthier scored one goal and one assist for two points, while Thomas Steven scored one goal for the Bears.
Louick Marcotte’s first goal for the Thunder, a power play goal, came at 5:33 of the first period, with Benjamin Breault and Nico Viksten picking up the assists. The second goal for Marcotte, a short handed goal, was scored at 9:11 of the second period, with Robert Haselhurst and Keven Veilleux picking up the assists.
Kieren Webster and Andrew Cox scored a goal each for the Thunder, while Benjamin Breault got two assists for two points.
Anthony Kimlin was the winning goalie for Sydney Bears, making 28 saves on 32 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.875. Nico Viksten was the losing goalie for Perth Thunder, making 36 saves on 41 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.878.
