Three Points By Dawes Helps Brave Win Over Mustangs

MELBOURNE – Hayden Dawes tallied three points and a goal to Jesse Gabrielle saw the CBR Brave beat the Melbourne Mustangs 4-2 at the O’Brien Icehouse on Saturday evening.

Hayden Dawes scored at 11:49 of the second period, unassisted.  Dawes also picked up two assists for three points for the game.

Jesse Gabrielle scored the game winning goal at 19:24 of the 3rd, assisted by Jordan Draper and Bayley Kubara.  Gabrielle also earned an assist for two points.

Casey Kubara and Conor Riley also scored for the Brave.  Jordan Draper got two assists for two points.

The Mustangs’ goal scorers were Vadim Virjassov and Mitchell Humphries.

Matthew Climie was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, making 28 saves on 30 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.933.  Kevin Nastiuk was the losing goalie for Melbourne Mustangs, making 18 saves on 22 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.818.
