
CANBERRA – Wehebe Darge scored two goals and Conor Riley found the back twice as the CBR Brave beat the Melbourne Ice 8-4 at the Phillip Ice Skating Centre on Saturday evening.
The first goal for Darge was scored at 1:20 of the first period, with Casey Kubara and picking up the assists. Darge scored his second goal at 10:15 of the second period, with Joseph Hughes and Jesse Gabrielle picking up the assists.
Riley scored his first goal at 4:04 of the first period, with Wehebe Darge and Casey Kubara picking up the assists. Riley’s second goal came at 2:54 of the third period, with Jesse Gabrielle picking up the assist.
Casey Kubara scored the game winning goal at 15:40 of the 3rd, assisted by Wehebe Darge and Jesse Gabrielle.
Jesse Gabrielle scored one goal and three assists for four points, while Joseph Hughes scored one goal and two assists for three points.
Sam Hodic, Kasey Kulczycki and JM Piotrowski all scored one goal and one assist for two points for the Ice.
Matthew Climie was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, making 28 saves on 32 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.875. Thomas Munro, starting his first game since 2007, was the losing goalie for Melbourne Ice, making 37 saves on 45 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.822.
