
CANBERRA – A hat trick to Jesse Gabrielle and two points to Joseph Hughes helped the CBR Brave win over the Melbourne Ice 5-1 at the Phillip Ice Skating Centre on Sunday afternoon.
Gabrielle scored his first goal at 5:44 of the second period, with Casey Kubara and Adam Kambeitz picking up the assists. The second goal for Gabrielle was scored at 17:20 of the third period, with Casey Kubara and Joseph Hughes picking up the assists. The third goal for Gabrielle was scored at 4:12 of the third period, with Conor Riley and Joseph Hughes picking up the assists.
Bayley Kubara scored his first career AIHL goal at 14:35 of the third period, assisted by Tyler Kubara and Mitchell Henning.
Joseph Hughes, Casey Kubara and Adam Kambeitz all picked up two assists for two points each.
The lone Ice goal was scored by Sam Hodic at 14:21 of the second period, assisted by Kasey Kulczycki and JM Piotrowski
Matthew Climie was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, making 27 saves on 28 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.964. Thomas Munro was the losing goalie for Melbourne Ice, making 44 saves on 49 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.898.
