
CANBERRA – Jesse Gabrielle scored two goals and Wehebe Darge earned two points as the CBR Brave beat the Newcastle Northstars 3-2 at the Phillip Ice Skating Centre on Saturday evening.
Gabrielle scored his first goal at 0:27 of the second period, with Wehebe Darge and Matthew Harvey picking up the assists. Gabrielle scored his second goal, a power play goal, at 14:57 of the third period, with goalie Matthew Climie picking up the assist.
Wehebe Darge scored a power play goal at 0:19 of the first period, assisted by Conor Riley and Jesse Gabrielle. Darge also picked up one assist for two points in the game.
Sammy Banga scored his first goal for the Northstars, a power play goal, at 11:48 of the second period, with Trey Phillips and Robert Malloy picking up the assists. Banga’s second goal, a short handed goal, was scored at 12:12 of the third period, with Francis Drolet and picking up the assists.
Matthew Climie was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, making 21 saves on 23 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.913. Dayne Davis was the losing goalie for Newcastle Northstars, making 31 saves on 34 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.912.
