Crowder’s Hat Trick Help Ice Dogs Defeat Thunder

SYDNEY – Tim Crowder scored a hat trick and Lachlan Fahmy got the game-winning goal as the Sydney Ice Dogs won over the Perth Thunder 7-5 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Saturday evening.

The first goal for Crowder was scored at 8:40 of the first period, with Lachlan Fahmy and Grant Toulmin picking up the assists. The second goal for Crowder was scored at 13:13 of the second period, with Grant Toulmin and Lachlan Fahmy picking up the assists. Crowder’s third goal came at 12:14 of the second period, with Grant Toulmin and Kale Costa picking up the assists.

Lachlan Fahmy scored the game winning goal at 6:34 of the second period, assisted by Cameron Todd and Daniel Pataky.  Fahmy also got two assists for three points in the game.

Cameron Todd and Grant Toulmin scored one goal and three assists for four points each, while Daniel Pataky got two assists for two points.

The first goal for Keven Veilleux for the Thunder was scored at 14:50 of the second period, with Robert Haselhurst picking up the assist. Veilleux scored his second goal, a power play goal, at 8:09 of the third period, with Louick Marcotte and Robert Haselhurst picking up the assists.

Robert Haselhurst scored one goal and two assists for three points, and Louick Marcotte got two assists for two points.

Garrett Bartus was the winning goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, making 27 saves on 32 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.844.  Nico Viksten was the losing goalie for Perth Thunder, making 20 saves on 27 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.741. Viksten left the game at 18:31 of the third period.
