
MELBOURNE – Kasey Kulczycki scored two goals and Tommy Powell scored the only shootout goal as the Melbourne Ice won over the CBR Brave 3-2 in a shootout at the O’Brien Icehouse on Saturday evening.
The first goal for Kulczycki, a power play goal, was scored at 0:23 of the second period, with Thomas Stahlhuth and Lliam Webster picking up the assists. The second goal for Kulczycki was scored at 16:00 of the third period, with JM Piotrowski and Todd Graham picking up the assists.
Powell was shooting in the seventh round of the shootout, and was the only shooter from either side to put the puck into the net.
Adam Kambeitz scored the opening goal for the Brave at 6:48 of the second period, assisted by Conor Riley and Tyler Kubara. Joseph Hughes scored the game tying goal for the Brave at 3:16 of the 3rd, assisted by Conor Riley.
Conor Riley got two assists for two points.
Sebastian Andersson was the winning goalie for Melbourne Ice, making 53 saves on 55 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.964. Matthew Climie was the losing goalie for CBR Brave, making 29 saves on 31 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.935.
