Veyt Scores Two As Ice Defeat Adrenaline In OT

ADELAIDE – Gabriel Veyt scored two goals on debut and Thomas Stahlhuth scored the game winning goal as the Melbourne Ice defeated the Adelaide Adrenaline 7-6 in overtime at the IceArenA on Saturday afternoon.

Veyt scored his first goal at 13:20 of the first period, with Kahu Joyce and Lliam Webster picking up the assists. The second goal for Veyt was scored at 10:25 of the second period, with Todd Graham and Kahu Joyce picking up the assists.

Thomas Stahlhuth scored the game winning goal at 0:23 of the overtime period unassisted.

Lliam Webster scored one goal and two assists for three points, Paul Lazzarotto scored one goal and one assist for two points, and Tom Powell and JM Piotrowski scored a goal each.  Kahu Joyce got two assists for two points.

Ales Kratoska scored his first goal for the Adrenaline at 0:08 of the first period, with Benjamin Gavoille and Jake Riley picking up the assists. Kratoska’s second goal came at 0:55 of the third period, with Alexandre Gauthier picking up the assist.

Benjamin Gavoille scored his first goal with 19 seconds remaining in the first period, assisted by Ales Kratoska.  Gavoille’s second goal was a short-handed goal at 10:01 of the third period, assisted by Jake Riley and Andrew Chen.

Harley Anderson and Jamie Holland also scored for the Adrenaline.  Alexandre Gauthier got three assists for three points, while Jake Riley got two assists for two points.

Thomas Munro was the winning goalie for Melbourne Ice, making 31 saves on 37 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.838.  Glen Forbes-White was the losing goalie for Adelaide Adrenaline, making 55 saves on 62 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.887.
