
SYDNEY – Sean Jones scored two goals and Thomas Flack scored the game winning goal the Melbourne Mustangs won over the Sydney Ice Dogs 4-3 in overtime at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Sunday evening.
Sean Jones scored his first goal at 10:22 of the first period, assisted by Jordan Owens and Parker Thomas. Jones’ second goal, a shorthanded goal, was scored at 3:06 of the second period unassisted.
Thomas Flack scored the game winning goal at 2:23 of overtime, assisted by Christian Isackson.
Christian Isackson got two assists for two points.
Paul Crowder and Grant Toulmin scored one goal and one assist for two points each for the Ice Dogs.
Jaden Pine-Murphy was the winning goalie for Melbourne Mustangs, making 52 saves on 55 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.945. Nicholas Novysedlak was the losing goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, making 27 saves on 31 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.871.
