Game Review: Breault’s Two Help Thunder Defeat Northstars In SF2

NEWCASTLE – Benjamin Breault found the back of the net twice and Shaun Tobin scored a goal as the Perth Thunder beat the Newcastle Northstars 3-2 in the second Semi Final at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium on Saturday night.

The first goal for Breault, a short handed goal, was scored at 11:39 of the first period, with Robert Haselhurst and Louick Marcotte picking up the assists. Breault’s second goal came at 4:41 of the third period, with Nico Viksten picking up the assist.

Shaun Tobin scored at 9:40 of the second period, assisted by Andrew Cox.

Richard Tesarik’s first goal for the Northstars came at 14:03 of the first period, with Sammy Banga and Francis Drolet picking up the assists. Tesarik scored his second goal at 2:52 of the third period, with Sammy Banga and Robert Malloy picking up the assists.

Sammy Banga got two assists for two points.

Nico Viksten was the winning goalie for Perth Thunder, making 25 saves on 27 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.926. Dayne Davis was the losing goalie for Newcastle Northstars, making 31 saves on 34 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.912. Davis left the game at 18:30 of the third period, however the Northstars were able to take advantage of the extra attacker.
