
NEWCASTLE – Three points to Tomas Landa and Mackenzie Gallagher scored two goals as the Newcastle Northstars beat the Melbourne Mustangs 7-4 at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium on Saturday evening.
Landa’s first goal was scored at 16:10 of the first period, assisted by Liam Mainwarring. Landa scored his second goal on the power play at 10:19 of the third period, with Robert Malloy and Beau Taylor getting the assists. Landa also picked up one assist for three points.
Gallagher scored his first goal at 13:07 of the first period, with Liam Mainwarring getting the assist. Gallagher scored his second goal at 18:05 of the second period, with Tomas Landa and Liam Mainwarring picking up the assists.
Robert Malloy scored the game winning goal at 19:33 of the 3rd, assisted by Beau Taylor. Malloy also got two assists for three points.
Beau Taylor scored one goal and two assists for three points.
Scott Timmins scored one goal and one assist for two points for the Mustangs.
Ethan Spelde was the winning goalie for Newcastle Northstars, making 39 saves on 43 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.907.
