CANBERRA – Casey Kubara tallied five points and Wehebe Darge earned four points as the CBR Brave defeated the Sydney Ice Dogs 9-5 at the Phillip Ice Skating Centre on Saturday evening.
The first goal for Kubara, a power play goal, was scored at 19:17 of the first period, with Jordon Brunt and Declan Bronte picking up the assists. Kubara’s second goal, a power play goal, came at 4:02 of the third period, with Wehebe Darge and Jordon Brunt picking up the assists. Kubara also picked up three assists for five points.
Darge scored his first goal at 2:15 of the second period, with Andy Camenzind and Matthew Price picking up the assists. The second goal for Darge was scored at 14:37 of the third period, with Andy Camenzind and Casey Kubara picking up the assists. Darge also tallied two assists for four points.
The first goal for Camenzind was scored at 17:11 of the first period, with Casey Kubara and Wehebe Darge picking up the assists. Camenzind’s second goal, a power play goal, came at 13:03 of the second period, with Casey Kubara and Alastair Punler picking up the assists. Camenzind also got two assists for four points.
Lynden Lodge scored one goal and one assist for two points.
Grant Toulmin’s first goal for the Ice Dogs came at 2:20 of the first period, with Hayden Dawes getting the assist. Toulmin scored his second goal, a power play goal, at 0:01 of the first period, with Christian Turner and Jeremy Vasquez picking up the assists. Toulmin’s third goal came at 1:55 of the second period, with Daniel Pataky and Jeremy Vasquez picking up the assists.
Jeremy Vasquez got three assists for three points. Shannon McGregor and Hayden Dawes scored one goal and one assist each for two points each.
Aleksi Toivonen was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, making 24 saves on 29 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.828. Jakob Doornbos was the losing goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, making 46 saves on 55 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.836.
