SYDNEY – Alexander Gauthier found the back of the net twice and Michael Poirier scored the game winning goal as the Sydney Bears defeated the CBR Brave 5-4 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Sunday evening.

Gauthier’s first goal, a power play goal, came at 11:24 of the first period, with Michael Poirier and Jake Ratcliffe picking up the assists. Gauthier scored his second goal at 5:06 of the first period, with Robert Haselhurst and Jake Ratcliffe picking up the assists.

Michael Poirier scored the game winning goal at 7:49 of the 3rd, assisted by Timothy Newmark.  Poirier also scored one assist for two points.

Timothy Newmark scored one goal and one assist for two points, while Jake Ratcliffe, Tyerell Clare and Robert Haselhurst got two assists for two points each.

Casey Kubara scored one goal and two assists for three points for the Brave, and Wehebe Darge scored one goal and one assist for two points.

Glen Forbes-White was the winning goalie for Sydney Bears, making 12 saves on 16 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.750.  Alex Tetreault was the losing goalie for CBR Brave, making 18 saves on 23 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.783.
