SYDNEY – A hat trick to Jake Ratcliffe and Michael Poirier tallied five points as the Sydney Bears crushed the Sydney Ice Dogs 12-2 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Friday night.

The first goal for Ratcliffe, a power play goal, was scored at 10:33 of the first period, with Tomas Landa and Alexander Gauthier picking up the assists. Ratcliffe’s second goal came at 9:29 of the second period, with Jeremy Brücker and Alexander Gauthier picking up the assists. Ratcliffe’s third goal came at 6:29 of the third period, with Michael Poirier getting the assist.

Michael Poirier scored one goal and four assists for five points.

Alexander Gauthier scored one goal and three assists for four points.

Tomas Landa, Ellesse Carini, Jeremy Brücker and Thomas Moncrieff all scored one goal and two assists for three points each.

Robert Haselhurst scored the game winning goal at 11:40 of the 1st, assisted by Alexander Wardlaw and Ellesse Carini.  Haselhurst also scored one assist for two points.

Alexander Wardlaw got two assists for two points.

Strat Allen scored his first goal for the Ice Dogs at 19:07 of the third period, with Cameron Todd getting the assist. The second goal for Allen, a power play goal, was scored at 5:44 of the third period, with Cameron Todd and Shannon McGregor picking up the assists.

Cameron Todd got two assists for two points.

Glen Forbes-White was the winning goalie for Sydney Bears, making 18 saves on 20 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.900.  Connor Dowell was the losing goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, making 1 saves on 6 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.167.  Dowell left the game at 9:55 of the first period.  Luka Dimopoulos was the backup goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, making 9 saves on 16 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.563.
