
MELBOURNE – A hat trick to Jordan Warren and Vadim Virjassov tallied three points as the Melbourne Mustangs defeated the Melbourne Ice 6-4 at the O’Brien Icehouse on Saturday evening.
Warren scored his first goal, a power play goal, at 7:31 of the first period, with Ty Wishart and Stephen Belic picking up the assists. Warren scored his second goal at 15:04 of the second period, with Vadim Virjassov getting the assist. Warren scored his third goal, an empty net goal, at 0:47 of the third period, with Vadim Virjassov and Jaxson Lane picking up the assists.
Vadim Virjassov got three assists for three points, while Ty Wishart and Stephen Belic got two assists for two points each.
Jordan Warren scored the game winning goal at 15:04 of the 2nd, assisted by Vadim Virjassov.
Paul Lazzarotto’s first goal for the Ice came at 7:47 of the second period, with Josh Walt and Ryan Foll picking up the assists. Lazzarotto’s second goal came at 0:42 of the third period, with Andrew Erzen and Jacob Laver picking up the assists.
Josh Walt scored one goal and two assists for three points, and Sam Hodic scored one goal and one assist for two points.
