
NEWCASTLE – Two goals to Daniel Berno and David-James Jeremy’s game-winning goal saw the Newcastle Northstars beat the Melbourne Mustangs 6-3 at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium on Saturday evening.
Berno scored his first goal at 6:06 of the second period, with Richard Tesarik getting the assist. The second goal for Berno was scored at 17:59 of the third period, with Liam Manwarring and Francis Drolet picking up the assists. Berno also picked up one assist for three points.
David-James Jeremy scored the game winning goal at 9:33 of the 3rd, assisted by Timothy Stanger and Patrick Ward.
Francis Drolet and Liam Manwarring scored one goal and two assists for three points each. Richard Tesarik and Ethan Hawes got two assists for two points each.
Brendan Connors scored one goal and one assist for two points for the Mustangs.
James Downie was the winning goalie for Newcastle Northstars, making 25 saves on 28 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.893. Sebastian Woodlands was the losing goalie for Melbourne Mustangs, making 35 saves on 41 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.854.
