
MELBOURNE – Tomas Landa scored two goals and four points to Timothy Newmark helped the Sydney Bears defeat the Melbourne Mustangs 4-3 at the O’Brien Icehouse on Sunday afternoon.
Landa’s first goal came at 14:44 of the first period, with Jeremy Brücker and Timothy Newmark picking up the assists. Landa’s second goal came at 11:53 of the third period, with Timothy Newmark and Michael Poirier picking up the assists.
Timothy Newmark scored a power play goal at 9:03 of the first period, assisted by Michael Poirier and Jake Ratcliffe. Newmark also got three assists for four points.
Michael Poirier scored the game winning goal at 8:57 of the 3rd, assisted by Alexander Gauthier and Timothy Newmark. Poirier also scored two assists for three points.
Sean Jones scored one goal and one assist for two points for the Mustangs, while Ty Wishart got two assists for two points.
Glen Forbes-White was the winning goalie for Sydney Bears, making 32 saves on 35 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.914. Sebastian Woodlands was the losing goalie for Melbourne Mustangs, making 47 saves on 51 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.922.
