SYDNEY – Kenshin Hayashi scored a hat trick and two goals to Alexander Gauthier saw the Sydney Bears smash the Sydney Ice Dogs 10-3 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Saturday evening.

Hayashi’s first goal, a power play goal, came at 15:33 of the first period, with Tomas Landa and Alexander Gauthier picking up the assists. The second goal for Hayashi was scored at 15:30 of the first period unassisted. Hayashi scored his third goal, a power play goal that became the game winner, at 1:43 of the first period, with Jake Ratcliffe and Michael Poirier picking up the assists.

Hayashi also scored two assists for five points for the game.

Gauthier scored his first goal at 11:37 of the third period, with Noah Moncrieff and Michal Glowka picking up the assists. Gauthier scored his second goal at 4:20 of the third period, with Jake Ratcliffe and Alexander Wardlaw picking up the assists.  Gauthier also scored two assists for four points.

Jake Ratcliffe scored one goal and three assists for four points, Michael Poirier scored one goal and two assists for three points, and Tyerell Clare and Michal Glowka scored one goal and one assist for two points each.

Aleksandr Dvinianinov’s first goal for the Ice Dogs, a short handed goal, was scored at 16:02 of the first period unassisted. Dvinianinov scored his second goal at 6:23 of the first period, with Cameron Todd getting the assist.

Glen Forbes-White was the winning goalie for Sydney Bears, making 13 saves on 16 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.813.  Jakob Doornbos was the losing goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, making 19 saves on 28 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.679.  Connor Dowell was the backup goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, joining the game at 2:46 of the 3rd period.
