
SYDNEY – Jake Ratcliffe scored two goals and Michael Poirier tallied four points as the Sydney Bears blew away the Melbourne Ice 7-2 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Sunday evening.
Ratcliffe scored his first goal at 15:15 of the second period, with Michael Poirier getting the assist. The second goal for Ratcliffe, a power play goal, was scored at 13:54 of the third period, with Michael Poirier and Alexander Gauthier picking up the assists.
Michael Poirier scored at 8:49 of the first period, assisted by Tyerell Clare and Alexander Gauthier. Poirier also got three assists for four points.
Kenshin Hayashi scored the game winning goal at 18:17 of the 2nd, assisted by Ellesse Carini and Michael Poirier.
Ellesse Carini and Jeremy Brücker scored one goal and one assist for two points each. Alexander Gauthier got two assists for two points.
Zach Boyle scored one goal and one assist for two points for the Ice.
Glen Forbes-White was the winning goalie for Sydney Bears, making 16 saves on 18 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.889. Michael James was the losing goalie for Melbourne Ice, making 14 saves on 21 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.667.
