SYDNEY – Wehebe Darge scored two goals and Mitchell Henning found the back of the net twice as the CBR Brave smashed the Sydney Bears 9-1 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Sunday evening.

Darge scored his first goal at 19:16 of the second period, with Casey Kubara and Jordon Brunt picking up the assists. The second goal for Darge was scored at 5:08 of the second period, with Casey Kubara getting the assist.

Henning’s first goal came at 10:29 of the first period unassisted. Henning scored his second goal at 8:14 of the third period, with Tyler Kubara and Andy Camenzind picking up the assists.

Declan Bronte scored the game winning goal at 4:57 of the 1st, assisted by Wehebe Darge and Kai Miettinen.

Tyler Kubara and Andy Camenzind scored one goal and three assists for four points each.  Casey Kubara and Mike Giorgi got two assists for two points each.

Alexander Wardlaw scored the lone Bears goal at 7:33 of the first period, assisted by Brian Funes and Jeremy Brücker

There were 6 penalties at 5:15 of the 2nd period, resulting in 54 minutes of penalties. Joseph Hughes for the Brave and Alexander Gauthier from the Bears each got Game Misconduct penalties as well as fighting penalties.

Aleksi Toivonen was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, making 16 saves on 17 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.941.  Glen Forbes-White was the losing goalie for Sydney Bears, making 13 saves on 21 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.619.  Forbes-White left the game at the end of the second period.  Justin Harrison started the third period for Sydney Bears, making 7 saves on 8 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.875.
